Living is aging, nothing more. - Simone de Beauvoir
Hi beautiful,
Welcome to #naw – no apologies women, a digital platform for mature women, composed of Blog, Instagram, Facebook and Linkedin, where we will talk about physical and mental health, menopause, motherhood, relationships, marriage, divorce, sex, career, fashion, entertainment, culture, travel, movie tips, TV series, books, wine, recipes and some other "things".
Nowadays, there is a lot of talk about minority representativeness and, fortunately, many groups that had no voice are managing to conquer their space. But, if there is a group that has no representation at all, it is the group of women over 40. Female aging is a theme that lives surrounded by taboos and stereotypes. (Before you think “this blog is not for me”, I also don't think I'm old!!!). The impression I have is that us women have no right to get old! We are terrified of that word and the entire burden it brings with it. When the first signs of aging appear (gray hair, wrinkles,…) they need to be eliminated at any cost! As if our appearance was the mainstay of our essence.
The labels imposed on us when we are over 40, coupled with the lack of information on many issues related to female aging end up limiting our lives in the most diverse areas. As I have felt the consequences of these limitations on my skin, I decided to create this space.
My purpose is to transform this platform into a community, where we can share experiences, desires, fears, successes and failures. Through our content we want to generate value for your life and encourage you to pursue your dreams. Aging is part of life and the only person who can limit you is you! We must take responsibility for our futures, planning and preparing for the transitions along the way. We have to be willing to get out of our comfort zones, try new things, take chances, and defy old stereotypes and misperceptions about what we should or should not do at a certain age*. You are not alone. Let´s learn together how to embrace our aging.
“There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.” - Sophia Loren
We will have, on average, 3 posts per week on the Blog, in addition to posting videos and tips on various subjects that we find interesting to share. LinkedIn’s agenda is more focused on research and articles on the topics above. On YouTube you will find videos on specific topics, interviews with normal people who have interesting stories to tell and also with experts in the various areas mentioned. Facebook and Instagram will have daily content.
For this platform to become a community, we need your participation. Like, comment, suggest and share. I will love to know your story! Email me: hi@noapologieswomen.com
